S.O.S is an American brand of cleaning products that have been around since the early 1900s. The company was founded in San Francisco by Arthur C. Stahnke and is now owned by Church & Dwight Co., Inc, a leading manufacturer and marketer of household, health, and personal care products. The name S.O.S comes from the phrase “Save Our Saucepans” which was used in their first product packaging in 1917 to emphasize how effective the product was at removing grease from pots and pans.
