Cadbury is a British confectionery company owned by Mondelez International. It is best known for its chocolate, particularly Dairy Milk and Creme Egg. The company was founded in 1824 by John Cadbury, who sold tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate in Birmingham, England. Over the years the business expanded to include a variety of products including biscuits, candy bars, gum, and beverages. In 1969 Cadbury merged with Schweppes to form Cadbury Schweppes. Today the company produces some of Britain's most beloved chocolates as well as other snacks such as Trident Gum and Halls cough drops. The company has also diversified into non-confectionery items such as hot cocoa mix, ice cream cones, yogurt drinks and smoothies.
