Acclaim Entertainment was a video game publishing company that operated from 1987 to 2004. The company was founded by Greg Fischbach, Robert Holmes, and Jim Scoroposki as an arcade game developer but eventually shifted focus to console gaming. Acclaim had success with its licensed titles including WWF WrestleMania and NBA Jam, which were some of the best-selling games of all time on SNES and Sega Genesis. The company also published its own original properties such as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Shadow Man.

Although most of their titles were well-received in the market, the company struggled financially due to poor marketing decisions and mismanagement. This led to Acclaim filing for bankruptcy in 2004, bringing an end to one of the longest-running video game publishing companies at the time.
