3M is a multinational conglomerate corporation based in Maplewood, Minnesota. It manufactures a wide variety of products for industrial, commercial and consumer markets. Founded in 1902, 3M is one of the 30 components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and also listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company's core business focuses on industrial adhesives and abrasives, health care products, personal safety equipment and consumer goods such as Scotch tape and Post-it notes. Some of its more well-known brands are Nexcare, Scotch-Brite, Command and Filtrete. 3M is also involved in research in areas such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, energy storage systems and acoustics.

The company has operations in more than 70 countries around the world with over 80 thousand employees worldwide. In 2018 it reported total revenue of $32 billion USD with net earnings of $5 billion USD that same year.
